BCO HELP GUIDE

1 How To Register

  1. Click on the menu item at the top right side of the form captioned Sign Up(Register)
    The BCO Disclaimer form is displayed (You must read and agree to the disclaimer before you can be allowed to register)
  2. After reading the BCO Disclaimer you should Accept or Decline by clicking on one of the two buttons at the bottom of the page.
    If you decline you will not be able to register
    If you accept you will be re-directed to the registration form
  3. Enter the following items on in the registration form:
    Note: All fields are required
    • Your contact email
    • Your contact phone number
    • Create a password
      Click on the link at the top of the form captionwed See Password Requirements for guidelines in creating your password
    • Confirm the password
    • Your first name
    • Your last name
    • Your city
    • Your State
  4. After entering valid data in all the registration fields you should click on the submit button at the bottom.
    On successful registration you will be re-directed to a confirmation page that will state the following:
    Email Verification and Confirmation.
    Check your email and confirm your account, you must be confirmed before you can log in.

    An email is automatically sent to your email account (the one you used to register)
  5. Check your email using your cell phone or any other device.
    Follow the instructions in the email and click on the displayed link
    Once you click on the link the BCO Web Site will be displayed on your device.
  6. That is it! You are done registering.
    You can now return to the login page and log in using your new credentials

2 How To Find Members With Needs

You can access the page with the list of members in need from different ways
  1. From the menu at the top:
    • Click on the menu item captioned BethelAssist
      A pull down menu is displayed
    • ClicK on the sub-menu item captioned View the List of Members who need help
      The form with header title List of Members who need urgent help is displayed
  2. From the Home Page:
    While on the Home Page you can scroll down until you see the image of people serving food.
    • Look for the link captioned View list of members who need help
    • Click on the link.

  3. From the Receive Page
    While on the Receive Page (Note: the Receive page is accessed by clicking on the BethelAssist menu and choosing the Tell Us Your Needs (Receive) menu item) click on the link captioned View all members with needs

  4. From the Give Page
    While on the Give Page (Note: the Giveve page is accessed by clicking on the BethelAssist menu and choosing the Help Someone in Need (Give) menu item) click on the link captioned View all members with needs

3 How To Give To Members Who Need Help

NOTE: You must be registered in the system to be able to submit a request to help someone
Once you navigate to the page with the List of Members With Needs - as outlined above in section 2 :

  • You will notice some rows of data (records). Each row has a reference ID that represents the ID for each member's submission.
  • The IDs are sorted in descending order - meaning that the first row item is the newest submission, etc.
  • The next item after the reference ID is the short description of the need as stated by the submitter
  • The details of the request is displayed after the submission title. This is what the requestor is asking you to help with.
  • The last items at the bottom of each record are the submitter's location and the date and time of the submission
To assist or give follow the follwing steps:

  1. Look through each row to identify the reference ID you wish to help.
    You may need to scroll down to view more of the rows.
    You may choose to assist more than one person but this has to be done one at a time
  2. Once you identify the person (reference ID) you wish to assist click on the reference ID
    Once you click on the reference ID you will either be
    1. directed to the page to give if you are already logged in
      or
    2. re-directed to the login page (so that you can log in).
      You must be registered and logged in to be able to submit a request!
      If you are not logged in then enter your email and password in the login page and click the submit button
      You will be returned to the GIVE page where you can give and assist a member
  3. Once you are on the GIVE page select the reference ID from the pull down list corresponding to the reference ID you clicked in the previous page
    Please make sure that the number you select from the drop down box is the same as the one you wish to assist
  4. Enter the details of how you wish to assist the member you selected in the large text box
    You have a maximum of 550 characters to enter. There is a character count tracker below the text box to automatically update the number of characters remaining
    You can click on the button captioned Clear Message Box to reset or delete the text you entered in the text box
  5. After entering the data in the large text box you should indicate (using the check boxes below the text box)
    If you are a member of Bethel
    and
    If you want to remain anonymous
  6. After entering and checking all your enteries click on the Submit buton
    On a successful submission of your form:
    • You will be re-directed to a confirmation page.
      The page will inform you that your form was successfully submitted to BCO and that
      Someone from BCO office will be getting in touch with you soon
    • A system generated email will be sent to the BCO Administrators to notify them that a new submission has been made
Note: You may assisted as many members as you wish but each submission has to be done seperately.

4How To Request For Help

Note that you must be registered in the BCO system to be able to request for help

There are many pages in the website that have links to take you to the page to request for help:
  1. From the Home Page
    While on the Home Page...
    • Scroll down until you see the RECEIVE image button with the picture of open hands
    • Click on the orange colored button just below the hand image captioned Receive! Submit a Request for Help
      This will direct you to the Receive form
      You will notice some open hands image around the middle of the page
    • Click on the button just below the hand image captioned Receive
      If you are logged in you will be immediately directed to the form to enter your request
      Otherwise
      You will be re-directed to the login form so that you can log into the system
      Once you enter your valid username (email) and password in the login form and click on the submit button you will immediately be directed to the form to enter your request

      OR
  2. From the top menu - BethelAssist
    • Click on the menu item captioned BethelAssist
      A pull down menu is displayed
    • Click on the sub-menu item captioned Tell Us Your Needs (Receive)
      This will direct you to the Receive form
      You will notice some open hands image around the middle of the page
    • Click on the button just below the hand image captioned Receive
      If you are logged in you will be immediately directed to the form to enter your request
      Otherwise
      You will be re-directed to the login form so that you can log into the system
      Once you enter your valid username (email) and password in the login form and click on the submit button you will immediately be directed to the form to enter your request

      OR
  3. From the page showing List of Members who need urgent help
    • While on the page listing all the members with need look for the white colored button located near the top (just below the page header)
      The button is captioned Create New Request For Help with blue font
    • Click on the button
      If you are logged in you will be immediately directed to the form to enter your request
      Otherwise
      You will be re-directed to the login form so that you can log into the system
      Once you enter your valid username (email) and password in the login form and click on the submit button you will immediately be directed to the form to enter your request
  • When the form to request for help is displayed you will have to provide four important items to complete your request:
    1. A short title for your request
      Enter a short title for your request.
      This must be not less than 15 characters long and not more than 80 characters long
      The form cannot be submitted if the character length requirement is not complied to
    2. The details of your request
      Enter a persuasive appeal for help -financial or physical - no less than 25 characters and not more than 550 characters long
      The form cannot be submitted if the character length requirement is not complied to
    3. Indicate if you are a Bethel Member
      Check the check box if you are a member of Bethel otherwise leave it unchecked.
    4. Indicate your Care Group
      To help the BCO staff to quickly verify that you are a member of Bethel you are to select the Care Group you belong to from the pull down list captioned Select Your Care Group
      If you do not belong to a care group you should select the very first item in the list - I_DO_NOT_HAVE_A_CARE_GROUP
  • Once all the above items have been entered click on the submit button at the lower portion of the form
    If the submission is successful:
    1. You will be re-directed to a confirmation page
      The confirmation page will inform you of a successful submission and also inform you that a BCO official will be getting in touch with you soon
    2. A BCO system email is generated and sent to the approperiate BCO officilals who will handle the submission
    3. The details of your submission is stored in the BCO database

5Forgot Your Password? How To Reset Your Password
If you are not able to remember your password the BCO system can assist you in resetting it.
Note: The BCO system cannot assist you if you cannot remember your email address
These are the steps to take to reset your password:
  1. Click on the menu item at the top of the page captioned Log In
    The Log In form is displayed
  2. Click on the link located below the orange Log In button captioned Forgot your password?
    A Forgot your password dialogue form is displayed
  3. Enter your email address -(the one that you used to register into BCO)
  4. Click on the green button captioned Click Here To Email Link
    A new form dialogue is displayed informing you to check your email and confirm your email
  5. Open your email from any device and click on the displayed link
    Once you click on the link another dialogue form is displayed with three text boxes
    • Enter your email in the first text box
    • Enter your new password in the second text box
    • Re-enter the same password in the third text box (for confirmation)
    • Click on the green button at the bottom left captioned Reset
    Once you click on the reset button (if the password and email are valid) you will be re-directed to another dialogue that informs you of a successful resetting of your pasword
  6. You are done! You can now return to the login form to log in using your newly reset password

6Guide to Creating a Valid Password in the BCO System

In order to create an acceptable password during your registration or password change it must conform to the following rules:
  1. Must be at least 6 characters long
  2. Must contain at least 1 lower case letter - (a..z)
  3. Must contain at least 1 upper case letter - (A..Z)
  4. Must contain at least 1 number - (0..9)
  5. Must contain at least 1 non-letter character - (#,$,%,&,*,etc.)
    An example of such a password is Alpha#25
    • This has 8 characters
    • Has at least 1 lower case letter -(l,p,h,a)
    • Has an upper case letter - A
    • Has a number (2,5)
    • Has a non-letter character - #
